Chuck Mangione wrote this gentle, flowing jazz style song in honor of his loving parents, naming it – Bellavia – his mother’s maiden name which means:  beautiful way. The gentle, rhythmic constant is present throughout with the memorable melody featured in both bells and handchimes. A “B” section melody is different than the beginning and ending melody but fits perfectly in tone and style. Stopped sounds and rests are critical throughout, making this work even more magical. Stopped sounds are to be determined by the director and occasional shakes add a bit of excitement to this amazing work! Hart has worked his amazing magic, making this handbell setting a must have for your moderately advanced group.
