In this original musical tone poem, Kurt takes us on a journey through our sleep – from that first onset of somnolence, only to experience some insomnia a bit later. Soon comes a period of NREM sleep leading into full REM, lovely dreams, and then full awakening, refreshed and ready to greet the new day. Melodies are carried in both bells and chimes with gentle LV passages consistently supporting the various themes. Addition of singing bell, some suspended malleted notes, and a few shakes and mart-lifts add to the musical picture. Addition of optional mark tree (bar chimes) and tambourine add to the interest. This is the perfect music to show off your group’s musical expression and interpretation.
