Sinfonia from Solomon (Entrance of the Queen of Sheba)

This regal and joyful work by Handel from his Solomon Oratorio was originally written for two oboes and strings, and has become an independent favorite apart from the complete oratorio. The Queen of Sheba is purported to have brought caravans of valuable gifts to Solomon and this work certainly is a wonderful gift from Handel’s musical pen to us all. Martha Lynn’s transcription sparkles and shines throughout. It includes a few dynamics, no tempo variations, and no techniques beyond Ring. Your musicians will love performing this and the audiences will be thrilled. As is the case with the entire “With just a few…” series, this title can be performed without tables by 6 or 7 – or fewer – ringers, if some have 4-i-h skills. This will be a delightful addition to worship and concert.
