Toward the Bright Horizon

Bob’s gift for melody is apparent in this lovely original work. It is rhythmic with nicely placed stopped techniques such as RT, mallet, and mart and the addition of a few echoes and LV highlight the gently flowing cantabile section which includes a handchime melody before returning to the opening theme.  

The composer writes:  Toward the Bright Horizon urges us all to put gray clouds behind us and move forward in confidence to what lies ahead.  So many of us are burdened in some way.  My inspiration for this piece was in that moment when I resolved to look forward and move onward.  The celebration of rhythm and harmony in the main theme excites us to new opportunities.  The driving mallet section propels us forward with a lyric melodic line.  And the middle section is our moment of rest and reflection, described with a mirror image of the lyric melody, to regain our strength for the journey.  The closing refrain leaves us optimistic and confident in a bright future.

This is certain to be a favorite of ringers and audience alike.
